Auroville is an experimental township 130 kilometres south of Chennai. Founded by the politician and philosopher Sri Aurobindo and Mira Alfassa, supported by the United Nations and inhabited by people from more than 40 nations it‘s a breeding ground for proving new concepts of human social interaction and conciousness.
In the course of my Social Service I will contribute to various projects to become part of this idea. More specificly my tasks will be to help with teaching and taking care of children, doing administrative and productive work. Projects focusing on the dialog between citizens of Auroville and native Tamils is another area I will be involved in as part of my Social Service.
